Bodo Wartke established a substantial body of work across Germany as both pianist and versatile stage entertainer through persistent discipline and creative output. His initial public appearance occurred in 1996, after which he quickly expanded his presence with a debut piano-cabaret recording titled Ich Denke, Also Sing'Ich two years later. During that same period he served as composer and musical director for Sven Schutze’s staging of Under the Dairy Forest, drawn from Dylan Thomas. To refine his technique he pursued formal training in piano and voice at The University of Arts Berlin, completing the program in 2005. While enrolled he prepared a fresh German libretto for J. Offenbach’s Orpheus of the Underworld in 2002, issued his second piano-cabaret collection Achillesverse the following year, and earned the Kleinkunstpreis in the Chanson category at Mainzer Unterhaus. Upon finishing his studies he brought out the third piano-cabaret album Noah War ein Archetyp in 2006 and began hosting the annual Bavarian Radio songwriting contest Songs on a Summer Evening, a role he maintained annually through 2011. In 2009 he ventured into solo theater with König Ödipus, embodying every character himself. Two further piano-cabaret releases followed: Klaviersdelikte in 2012 and Was, Wenn Doch? in 2015.
