Biography
Blending age-old Irish musical elements with sweeping indie rock arrangements forms the signature sound of Brave Giant. Mark Prunty on guitar and vocals alongside Podge Gill on guitar and vocals launched the project in 2011 under the name Dutch Courage as an initial duo. In 2013 they brought aboard Ross McNerny, whose banjo and mandolin contributions accompanied a name shift to Poroma. The next year, 2014, introduced drummer Emmet Collum and bassist David Kilbride, leading to the current moniker Brave Giant. With the complete roster in place the group captured its first EP, the 2016 release Lordy Lordy. Although David Kilbride’s ongoing involvement went unmentioned thereafter, the band issued its debut full-length album White, Pink + Blue during 2019.
