Broken Witt Rebels, a British rock outfit from Birmingham, England, merge the gritty, high-energy vibe of traditional Southern rock with sleek modern production, synthesizers, and electronic touches, evident throughout their 2020 major-label debut, OK Hotel.

Schoolmates Danny Core on vocals and guitar alongside bassist Luke Davis founded the group, later adding guitarist James Tranter and drummer James Dudley. Their moniker emerged from randomly chosen words pulled from newspaper headlines. Influenced by early exposure to Queen, the Rolling Stones, Fleetwood Mac, Black Sabbath, and Led Zeppelin, the members positioned themselves within a tradition of American-flavored rock from Northern England. Local club performances helped them gain traction before their first recording, the 2016 EP Georgia Pine, appeared; they also earned best rock act honors that same year at the initial Unsigned Music Awards. Their self-titled debut full-length arrived in 2017 as a collection drawn from earlier EPs plus fresh material, and extensive live dates across the U.K. and U.S. expanded their reach. That album’s momentum secured a Spinefarm contract the next year, leading to the 2020 release of OK Hotel, where the quartet layered contemporary production values, synthesizers, and electronic components onto their raw, blues-infused, soul-rooted rock foundation.
