Denmark's Bryan Rice crafts sincere, frequently inspiring pop anthems that explore layered feelings of heartbreak, solace, and support. He first gained traction via the Danish radio smash "No Promises," taken from his platinum-certified debut album Confessional in 2006, then reentered the national Top 40 with Good News in 2007. The motivational track "Breathing" reached a career-best number-three position in 2010 after vying for Denmark's Eurovision entry, a spirit that carried into later projects such as the 2015 album Hear Me as I Am plus the singles "Warriors" in 2017 and "Cloudless" in 2023.

Born Brian Risberg Clausen in 1978, Bryan Rice spent several years working as a backing and demo vocalist before stepping forward as a solo performer. While employed as a hotel receptionist, he submitted recordings that caught the ear of producer and label head Remee, whose admiration for the singer's voice and presence led to a contract with the newly established Boom Records (EMI) in 2005—extended before the two had ever met face to face. His first full-length release, Confessional, arrived in August 2006. Written by Jonas Schrøder and Lucas Sieber, the single "No Promises" landed on the soundtrack for the hit film Nynne and dominated Danish airwaves with more than six months of heavy rotation. Powered additionally by follow-ups "Homeless Heart" and "Can't Say I'm Sorry," the album climbed to number four on the domestic chart and achieved platinum status the next year. Rice's 2007 single "I Lied," paired with an active summer tour schedule, built anticipation for the Border Breakers release of his second album Good News, which reached number 36.

Early 2010 brought his strongest chart success to date when his version of "Breathing," penned by Peter Bjørnskov, was chosen to compete for Denmark's 2010 Eurovision slot. Although the song placed second in the national final, it peaked at number three on the singles chart and appeared on Rice's third studio album, Another Piece of Me (RecArt), issued that October; the set also featured collaborations with Sweden's Emilia and Denmark's Julie (Julie Berthelsen). Their joint track "Curtain Call" entered the Top 20 in Belgium. A concert recording, A Live Piece of Me: The Scandic Sessions, surfaced in 2011.

Rice returned to Dansk Melodi Grand Prix in 2014 with "I Choose U," which failed to advance to the Eurovision finals yet secured a place on his uplifting fourth album Hear Me as I Am, released by B:REC in February 2015. He continued with shorter releases, notably the EP Bryan, Pt. 1 and its 2017 reworking Bryan, Pt. 2, both spotlighting the anthemic single "Warriors" recorded with the string ensemble Who Killed Bambi and, on the sequel EP, China's Jeno Liu. Further singles included 2018's "Glow" alongside Camille Jones, 2019's "Christmas with You" with the Danish Boys Choir, and 2021's "Yes to All." During this period Rice married Mads Enggaard and began raising a family. He added the seasonal cut "It's Christmas and I'm Coming Home" in 2022 before issuing the disco-tinged "Cloudless" in mid-2023.
