Bullets And Octane

Gene Louis, the frontman of Bullets and Octane, spent his childhood in St. Louis under the guidance of his jazz drummer father, who introduced him to the drums at a young age and soon had the boy joining him onstage at local performances. In 1999, Louis and his longtime friend, bassist Brent Clawson, relocated to Orange County, CA, where they founded Bullets and Octane with Louis initially remaining on drums; following the departure of the original vocalist, however, he shifted into the lead singer role. The lineup expanded shortly afterward with the addition of popular punk studio drummer Ty Smith and fellow Missourian guitarist James Daniel. Their debut album, Revelry, appeared on Criterion Records in 2004, and after supporting Avenged Sevenfold on a European tour, the group issued its follow-up, In the Mouth of the Young, via RCA in 2006.
