Calavera

Latin jazz ensemble Calavera originated in Brighton, England, during 1994 when singer-guitarist José León assembled keyboardist Alex Briggs, guitarist Paul Aguilera, percussionist Dil Davies, bassist Eddie Myer, trombonist Billy Rumfitt, and percussionist Bernie Richards. Following an appearance at the Concorde venue, the musicians embarked on performances across England and Spain that attracted favorable notices along with an expanding audience. Between 1999 and 2000 the band issued the Ramón Correa tribute EP Jazz Tango Fandango together with the album La Vida es Extraña.
