Camélia Jordana

Born on September 15, 1992, in La Londe-les-Maures, Camélia Jordana is a French vocalist of Algerian heritage. Her mother, an opera performer, ignited Jordana’s ambition to sing at a very young age. While still a student at high school in Marseilles, she secured her first major opportunity by being selected for the 2009 season of the French music competition Nouvelle Star. Initially regarded as an outsider due to her unassuming appearance and leanings toward jazz and folk, she soon won over viewers and ultimately placed third. One week after the finale she inked a deal with Jive Epic. Early in 2010 her debut album, issued under the plain title Camélia Jordana, earned favorable notices from critics along with robust sales.
