Biography
Camera Shy comprises the indie pop duo Alexandra Morte and Nick Bassett, both Oakland, California natives who first collaborated in the shoegaze band Whirr. The pair formed in 2014 and promptly joined Whirr’s label Run for Cover, issuing their debut EP Jack-O-Lantern that summer. Echoing the Softies, the Cardigans, and the Sundays, their blend of heavily reverbed acoustic and electric guitar supplies a gentle backdrop for Morte’s dreamy vocals. By adding a rhythm section, they broadened their palette and released the self-titled full-length debut in July 2015.
