Biography
Formed in 2006, the United States bachata duo Carlos y Alejandra features Carlos Vargas Franco, Jr., born October 16, 1984, in the Bronx, NY, of Dominican heritage, and Bianca Alejandra Felíz, born in Boston, MA, of Dominican and Puerto Rican heritage. Their first full-length album, La Introduccíon, appeared in 2009 on Machete Music and yielded the hit singles "Explícame," "Cuanto Duele," and "Cafecito." Recognition arrived via a Premios lo Nuestro award for Soloist or Group Revelation of the Year, leading to a 2010 re-release of the debut that added three new songs under the title La Introduccíon: Continued.
