Monchy & Alexandra

Dominican producers Ramón Cordero and Martires de León formed the duo Monchy & Alexandra in 1998. The act brings together vocalist Ramón Rijo, better known by his stage name Monchy and born in La Romana in 1977, together with Alexandra Cabrera de la Cruz, who performs as Alexandra and was born in Santo Domingo in 1978. Their initial success with the single “Hoja en Blanco” soon led to an extensive and well-received international tour. The year 2002 brought the release of their best-selling album Confesiones, which contained the follow-up hit “Te Quiero Igual Que Ayer.”
