Biography
Carmen Jara, recognized as part of the new Mexican folklore, first entered the entertainment industry by performing at modest venues in Tijuana. Upon turning 16 she relocated to Mexico City after securing a scholarship to refine her abilities. Following her family's move to the U.S., she enrolled in singing lessons. Around the same period she recorded her debut album Herencia, soon signing with Fonovisa and launching her label career through La Mujer...El Nuevo Folklore de Mexico plus the 1994 release Y Tú Te Quedas. The Latin singer strengthened her following via the 1996 album Mujer Enamorada and Con Sentimiento in 1997.
