Biography

Caroline Lufkin works as a solo artist in experimental electronic pop, layering fragile vocal melodies across fractured IDM rhythms and ethereal, low-key sonic textures. Okinawa, Japan, marks her birthplace, where her older sister Olivia first sparked her interest in songwriting after establishing her own reputation as a J-pop performer. Following her 2003 graduation from the Berklee School of Music in Boston, Caroline relocated to Los Angeles with the goal of building a full-time music career. Temporary Residence Limited issued her debut album Murmurs in 2006, an electronic ambient pop ballad collection assembled from the ground up with pianos, guitars, harps, bells, guitars, and strings. The same material received remix treatment on 2008’s Murmurs Mixes ahead of the 2010 arrival of Verdugo Hills.
