Cepeda

Luis Cepeda records and performs simply as Cepeda, the Spanish singer/songwriter who first drew widespread attention through appearances on the reality contests La Voz, the Spanish edition of The Voice, and Operación Triunfo. Born in Ourense, Galicia, he had trained in industrial design and engineering before shifting focus to music. During the 2015 edition of La Voz he offered a cover of the Calling’s “Wherever You Will Go,” only to exit after the opening round. Two years later he entered the 2017 season of Operación Triunfo and remained until the ninth round, at which point his strong online following had already taken shape, with fans frequently comparing the newcomer to fellow Spanish pop artists Antonio Orozco and Pablo Alborán. Cepeda issued his first album, Principios, in 2018. The next year he released the singles “Mi Reino” and “Culpable Oh No,” the latter a duet with Operación Triunfo graduate Ana Guerra.
