Biography
At the age of twelve, María Parrado captured the top prize in the opening season of La Voz Kids, Spain's children's counterpart to the vocal contest The Voice. The achievement thrust her into controversy once an image of the young performer clutching her 10,000-euro winner's check appeared on social networks ahead of the finale's broadcast, prompting concerns over a possible violation of her performer's contract with the show's producers, although nothing indicated that Parrado herself had released the photograph early. Her victory nonetheless stood as official. Under agreement with Universal Music, the eight-track debut album titled María Parrado reached stores in the first part of 2014.
