Chris McClarney

Known for his work as a songwriter and performer in the realm of bluesy contemporary Christian rock, Chris McClarney spent a nomadic childhood following his father’s assignments as a youth pastor, with the family finally putting down roots in Nashville during his early teenage years. Piano lessons came next, along with leading small worship gatherings and developing original material through outreach activities. In his late teens he briefly chased a recording contract, only to set music aside afterward and take up residence and employment at a Nashville mission. By his early twenties he had assumed the role of worship leader at a local church, and several years after that he secured backing from an investor to produce his self-released debut. Recorded over two days at the Sound Kitchen in Franklin, Tennessee, Love Never Fails appeared in 2008. A deal with Kingsway Music followed, yielding the 2010 EP Introducing Chris McClarney, which spotlighted the worship anthem “Your Love Never Fails,” written with Anthony Skinner. The Jesus Culture youth ministry based in California soon adopted the track as its theme song, exposing McClarney to a nationwide church audience. Later the same year the full-length Defender was issued, again featuring the song. New material captured live at the 2015 Jesus Culture Conference Sacramento formed the basis of Everything & Nothing Less, released that June through Jesus Culture Music and Capitol Christian Music Group.
