Born in North Carolina, Cory Asbury has built a multifaceted career as a singer, songwriter, author, speaker, and praise & worship leader. His recording path opened in 2009 with the arrival of Let Me See Your Eyes, yet genuine progress followed once he joined the Bethel Music roster in 2015. The 2018 project Reckless Love climbed to number one on the Billboard Christian Albums chart and earned a GMA Dove Award for Worship Album of the Year. His third album, To Love a Fool, surfaced in 2020, while 2023 brought Pioneer, an effort shaped by partnerships with several prominent Nashville songwriters.

Asbury developed an early passion for both faith and music. At age 14 he began leading worship services in his local congregation. Adulthood led him to establish a ministry at the International House of Prayer in Kansas City in 2005. He joined Matt Gilman for the 2008 release Holy, then delivered his first solo album, Let Me See Your Eyes, the next year. In 2012 he and his family settled in Colorado, and May 2015 marked his signing with Bethel. The subsequent year his household moved to Kalamazoo, Michigan, paving the way for January 2018’s Reckless Love, his initial solo album on the label. This third full-length overall contained the uplifting, Grammy-nominated title track that became his hallmark. The following year introduced the dynamic standalone single “The Father’s House” along with the devotional book Reckless Love, which recounted both the song’s creation and Asbury’s path to faith. He also appeared on the Bethel Music albums Victory (2019) and Bethel Music en Español before returning to solo work with To Love a Fool in 2020. That set performed strongly, reaching the Top Five on the Christian charts and earning two further Dove Award nominations. In 2021 he united with We Are Messengers on the single “Come What May +.” For his next album he enlisted acclaimed Nashville songwriters including Lori McKenna and Shane Stevens to shape the country-leaning Pioneer issued in 2023.
