A Dove Award-winning singer and songwriter who leads worship at Atlanta’s Grace Midtown, Pat Barrett initially served as Housefires’ chief songwriter and frontman. The popular Christian rock collective formed in 2014, and Barrett remained its central creative force until departing in 2018 to launch a solo career. His first two Billboard-charting projects, the 2021 album Act Justly, Love Mercy, Walk Humbly and the 2023 release Shelter, established him commercially, while the 2024 duets collection Happily Hidden further expanded his catalog.

As a founding member of Housefires, Barrett helped issue five live albums. The group gained widespread attention when the Matt Reynolds and Barrett-penned song “Good Good Father” reached the summit of the CCM charts after Chris Tomlin recorded his own version in 2015. That same year Barrett signed as the flagship artist to Bowyer & Bow, the Capitol Christian Music Group imprint led by Tomlin. His self-titled debut arrived in 2018 and included guest appearances by Steffany Gretzinger and Amanda Cook. The following year he issued the live album Canvas and Clay.

Barrett’s third long-player and second studio effort, Act Justly, Love Mercy, Walk Humbly, entered Billboard’s Religious Top Heatseekers chart at number 11 in 2021; a live EP titled Nothing/Something surfaced later that year. In 2022 he joined Elevation Worship on the Hot Christian Songs chart entry “This Is the Kingdom,” which peaked at number 27. Shelter, his third studio album, followed in 2023 and explored gratitude, compassion, and the search for joy amid difficulty. The July 2024 project Happily Hidden presented a series of duets featuring Kari Jobe, John Mark McMillan, Cecily, and additional collaborators.
