Born in Fairbanks, Alaska, in 1971, the contemporary Christian guitarist, singer, and songwriter Lincoln Brewster had already taken up drums, guitar, and mandolin by age seven. Fronting his own group, Lincoln & the Missing Links, by twelve—with his mother Cheryl handling bass and vocals—he relocated to California at fifteen and enrolled in the high school jazz and marching ensembles. Connections in Los Angeles opened the door to a major-label contract by nineteen, yet his personal circumstances had grown unstable. Faith offered both stability and direction, allowing him to pursue music that reflected his beliefs. Session work followed, including an extended tour alongside Steve Perry of Journey that lasted well over a year. After a short period in Oklahoma, he and his wife settled in Nashville to assist in establishing the Oasis Church; there he joined the Integrity roster and launched his recording career. The resulting projects include Live to Worship (2000), Amazed (2002), All to You...Live (2005), Today Is the Day (2008), and Real Life (2010). In 2012 he issued the seasonal collection Joy to the World.

Oxygen: A Worship Album, his ninth studio release, appeared in 2014 and brought a more melodic pop sensibility to his established rock foundation. The album peaked just outside the Billboard 200’s top fifty while reaching number two on the Christian chart. God of the Impossible followed four years later, extending the OneRepublic-inspired pop-rock approach and entering the charts just below the top one hundred.
