Clarissa

Emerging from the remnants of Snatches of Pink, the trio behind that early-1980s rock group issued three albums before disbanding and reassembling as Clarissa to greet the following decade. Anchored by Michael Rank’s understated vocals, the outfit’s debut “Silver” placed dense guitar textures over the distinctive foundation of acoustic guitar, percussion, and restrained bass that earned recognition for shaping the sound. The follow-up “Blood and Commons” sustained this approach upon its arrival in 1997.
