Dalton Rapattoni, recognized as an emotive pop-oriented performer and singer/songwriter, first drew widespread notice by finishing third on the fifteenth season of American Idol. Born in Memphis, Tennessee in 1996, he spent his formative years in the Dallas, Texas area and took up guitar around age eleven. Participation in the local after-school School of Rock program accelerated his development, and during his teens he assembled the emo-pop-influenced band Fly Away Hero. At fourteen he entered the boy band IM5, which prompted a relocation to Los Angeles, yet he later left the group and returned to Texas to serve as a vocal coach at the School of Rock. In 2015 he auditioned successfully for American Idol’s fifteenth season by performing Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “Phantom of the Opera.” A clear fan favorite, he placed third behind La’Porsha Renae and Trent Harmon. Following the show he issued the post-show single “Strike a Match” and settled in Austin, Texas to focus on solo work. The year 2017 brought his full-length debut album Nobodys Home, which featured the single “Heaven.”
