Biography
Originating from Quebec, Dan Bigras built a prize-winning discography as a French rock vocalist, composer, and instrumentalist that ran alongside a thriving career in television roles. He entered the world on December 23, 1958, in Montreal, Quebec, and issued his first album, Ange Animal, in 1990. The follow-up, Tue-Moi, became the breakthrough release that earned him a Félix for Rock Album of the Year at the 1992 Gala de l'ADISQ. Later projects Les Immortelles (1993) and Le Fou du Diable (1995) each received Félix nominations, while 2000 et un Enfants (1999) secured his second victory in the category. After the century changed, he stepped into acting for the first time on television in Rivière-des-Jérémie (2001). Additional parts arrived in the years that followed, most of them again for the small screen. Four years elapsed before he reentered the recording market via the duet collection Bigras 1992/2002 Tout (2003), which paired him with Luce Dufault, Isabelle Boulay, Laurence Jalbert, and additional voices. Further releases arrived in the form of Fou (2005) and Duos de la Tendresse: Les Plus Jolies Voix (2008).
