David Tort

David Tort drew from techno, electro, and tribal influences when he launched his career in 1988 with the goal of bringing his preferred dance music to Sitges, Spain. He initially focused on producing his own acid house and industrial material while also handling remixes for Vale Music recording artists, although nearly a decade passed before he settled into his role as a house DJ. In 2001 he joined Toni Bali and Carlo Caesar to found the Elestudiodigital studio; the three then recorded as Drummers of Love and issued the single “Drums of Love.” International success followed, leading Tort to tour clubs and work with additional labels including Weekend Records, Sutil Records, and House Works. In October 2004 he opened Overbooking Studio, and in 2005 he teamed there with Francesco Farfa to co-write “Acidazzo,” the lead single from Farfa’s debut album Human Bridge. That same year he began a collaboration with DJ Ruff in Los Angeles, creating club tracks and music for television commercials. He also pursued various multimedia projects and hosted radio broadcasts on Loca FM (Madrid) and CB FM (Barcelona). Early in 2008 Deejay Mag named him best DJ remixer of 2007, and he scheduled new remixes with DJ Disciple.
