daydream Masi

Raed Mohammed Asi, born in Akron, Ohio, releases his atmospheric blend of pop, R&B, and electronica under the name daydream Masi, a moniker that reached the public in 2019. Several years prior, the singer/songwriter began posting material on SoundCloud that evoked Southern California more than his Midwestern roots. Early cuts such as “Marguerite,” issued solely under his given name, generated attention and prompted both a pivot toward the daydream Masi identity and a licensing arrangement with Interscope. The reflective, gently drifting tracks “Nightlife,” “Stardust,” and “Hot Mess” arrived between April and July 2019, after which the three singles joined four additional recordings on the Slow Rage Project EP in August.
