Biography
Dennis Lloyd crafts emotionally direct songs as a vocalist and wordsmith whose shadowy blend of styles draws naturally from vintage soul traditions. Launching his career in 2015 as a multi-instrumentalist, he achieved widespread recognition the following year via the worldwide success “Nevermind,” which reached the summit of the charts in his home country of Israel along with other nations and earned platinum status across multiple markets such as the United States. He has since returned to number one on the Israeli pop listing with both “Never Go Back” and “Alien” while issuing his debut full-length album, Some Days (2021). The track “Today, Tomorrow” appeared in early 2023.
Born Nir Tibor in Tel Aviv, he entered the scene in 2015 through two singles plus the EP The Breakdown, then relocated for a year to Bangkok, Thailand, where dozens of fresh compositions were written and captured. Several more singles accompanied by videos emerged throughout 2016 and the first half of 2017. Among them, the standout proved to be “Nevermind,” a ballad that rapidly accumulated over a million streams en route to topping or nearly topping the rankings in Israel, Austria, Germany, and Norway while gaining traction in additional territories. Though he maintained a busy live schedule, Lloyd released relatively little new material in 2018, only to reclaim the peak position on the Israeli pop chart in 2019 with “Never Go Back,” the lead cut from Exident, his initial EP on the major label Arista. A third chart-topper followed in 2020 when “Alien” introduced Some Days, which surfaced that July. Before the year closed he notched another success with “Young Right Now,” a joint effort alongside German DJ Robin Schulz. The year 2023 opened with the uplifting “Today, Tomorrow.”
