Des Rocs

Operating under the moniker Des Rocs, Danny Rocco stepped forward in 2017 under the tagline "Bringing rock & roll back to the people," unveiling a blues-slapped, fist-pumping electro-rock sound meant to update the rock & roll paradigm. Three EPs paved the way for his first full-length release, the high-energy A Real Good Person in a Real Bad Place, which surfaced in 2021. He later signed with Sumerian Records ahead of his second album, the swaggering Dream Machine, issued in 2023.

Drawing from sources as varied as Queen, Elvis Presley, Jimi Hendrix, Roy Orbison, Muse, Kanye West, and Grandson, the Long Island native launched his career in the pop duo Secret Weapons alongside Gerry Lange. That act joined Epic Records in 2015 and put out the electro-pop single "Something New," which scored a hit. The duo appeared on NBC's Today, opened for Fun., and delivered their debut album, As the Setting Sun Comes Crashing Down on Me, in 2017. Later the same year Rocco shifted toward a harder-edged style as Des Rocs. Aligning himself with the approach heard from the Struts, Royal Blood, and the Black Keys, he issued the EP Let the Vultures In in 2018. Martyr Parade followed in 2019, and This Is Our Life arrived in 2020. His debut full-length, A Real Good Person in a Real Bad Place, came out in 2021 and was supported by a co-headlining tour with Canadian rock band the Blue Stones. Sumerian Records released Des Rocs' second album, Dream Machine, in 2023.
