Destiny Rogers, a California-based singer and songwriter, works in a style that fuses laid-back R&B with pop shaped by hip-hop. Her first project appeared in 2019 as the EP Tomboy, and the album Great Escape arrived the next year.

Born in Lodi, California, in 1999, she was raised in a religious household. From age six she skateboarded and initially viewed the sport as her future path. Music nevertheless pulled her in, shaped by her youth pastor father’s enthusiasm for rock acts such as AC/DC and by her mother’s devotion to mariachi. At nine she received her first guitar and taught herself to play through online videos, among them Justin Bieber tracks. As her listening habits developed, her songwriting followed suit; during her teens she began busking on weekends across Los Angeles. The songwriting and production team the Stereotypes eventually noticed her and signed her to their Beach Wave Sound label in 2018. The year after, she released her debut EP Tomboy, which contained the track “North$ide.” In the twelve months that followed she issued further streaming successes such as “Euphora” and the P-Lo and Guapdad 4000 collaboration “Lo Lo,” both of which later appeared on the 2020 full-length Great Escape. Additional stand-alone singles arrived in the form of 2021’s “Simon Say” featuring Flo Milli, 2022’s “Summer Nights,” and 2023’s “Still Your Girl.”
