Biography
Gary Zon constitutes the entirety of the project known as Dismantled, yet electronic music held no appeal for him until Front Line Assembly’s aggressive synthetics entered his awareness. Classical piano instruction began in childhood within his Russian homeland. Relocation to the United States brought renewed exposure to Front Line Assembly, prompting Zon to initiate his own compositional work. Buzz generated by his material on www.MP3.com prompted offers from two leading electro-industrial imprints: Germany’s Dependent and America’s Metropolis. Appearances on Dependent’s Septic, Vol. 2 and Dystopian’s Resist the Command, Vol. 2 followed, alongside a single that included his contest-winning remix of :wumpscut:’s “Wreath of Barbs.” The self-titled Dismantled debut album surfaced in 2002 and preceded a 2003 tour. Bootleg reinterpretations of Madonna and Nine Inch Nails material were later distributed via his website, while the follow-up album Post Nuclear reached listeners in early 2004.
