DJ Felli Fel

Born James Andrew Reigart in Rock Hill, South Carolina, DJ Felli Fel spent his childhood in Atlanta before relocating with his family to Los Angeles during his teenage years. He launched his radio career at K104 in Dallas, where he spent three years before joining Power 106 in Los Angeles. There he established a lasting base, reached a broader listenership, and steadily built recognition across the rap world. While based in Los Angeles, he also took up beatmaking, supplying productions for the Outlawz, the Luniz, Young Rome, Guerilla Black, Cassidy, Xzibit, Sean Kingston, Baby Bash, Smitty, and additional artists, and he began curating a run of regionally circulated mixtapes. In 2007, following the commercial breakthroughs of DJ Khaled and DJ Drama, Jermaine Dupri signed him to Island Def Jam/So So Def.

For his major-label introduction, the DJ and producer issued two singles. “Get Buck in Here,” featuring Diddy, Akon, Ludacris, and Lil Jon, reached number 41 on the Billboard Hot 100, whereas “Finer Things,” featuring Jermaine Dupri, Kanye West, Ne-Yo, and Fabolous, fell just short of that chart. Both tracks supported the planned 2008 album Go DJ!, which ultimately went unreleased. Further singles followed with limited impact, yet he contributed the opening sequence to Timbaland’s Shock Value II in 2009 and handled the mix for Thump Ridaz Mix in 2010. Returning to solo work in 2013 under Rock Hill Productions, he released “Reason to Hate,” which enlisted Ne-Yo, Tyga, and Wiz Khalifa.
