DJ Gregory ranks among France's foremost house music figures in both DJing and production. His recording work commenced in the late 1990s via Basenotic Records and Yellow Productions. Subsequent ties to the acclaimed Africanism project preceded the launch of his own imprint, Faya Combo, early in the new millennium. Standout productions include the 2002 release "Tropical Soundclash" and the 2003 track "Elle".

Born Grégory Darsa, the artist grew deeply engaged with house music near 1990, prompting yearly visits to New York City to experience its club environments firsthand. In the early portion of that decade he handled record distribution duties, bringing international dance music into France. Mid-decade recognition as a DJ grew, especially through consistent appearances on Radio FG shared with DJ Deep.

His recording debut arrived in 1996 with "Take the Cash on Run," credited to Cheesy D on Basenotic Records. The following year brought the hit collaboration "Faithfull," co-produced with Julien Jabre under the Fantom name for the EMI subsidiary Source. Additional output throughout the rest of the decade appeared under assorted aliases—Bobby Ewing, .G, Prassay, Carinhoso Project, and DJ Gregory—across multiple labels, most prominently Yellow Productions, home to DJ Yellow and Bob Sinclar.

In 2000 DJ Gregory contributed to Africanism, a collaborative venture on Yellow Productions; two resulting tracks, "Block Party" and "Tourment d'Amour," registered as international club successes. Now established as a hitmaker, he started Faya Combo in 2002 and issued "Tropical Soundclash" under his own name to strong effect. His fifth release on the label, "Elle" (2003), likewise proved a club favorite. Around the same period he joined Bob Sinclar to mix the double-disc Africanism (2002), while further tracks emerged with Julien Jabre under the Soha name for Basic Recordings.

Subsequent years brought an association with Defected Records, which issued the 2008 three-CD collection Faya Combo Sessions. The package contains a DJ mix on the first disc, a compilation of his productions on the second, and a compilation of those productions as remixed by others on the third.
