DJDS, an abbreviation for DJ Dodger Stadium, operate as a wide-ranging commercial production pair formed by Sam Griesemer (also known as Samo Sound Boy) and Jerome Potter (also known as Jerome LOL). Nominated for Grammys tied to their contributions alongside Kanye West, the pair headline across genres on their own terms after supporting Khalid and Kacy Hill and placing those performers plus an intergenerational array of other acts on their records.

The Los Angeles-based pair first surfaced in 2011 via the Stadium Status EP, a limited collection of raw house cuts steeped in acid textures that appeared on their Body High label. After remixing material from Maelstrom, DJ Soulja-Man, and Newbody three years later, they delivered their first album, Friend of Mine. Within a short span following its arrival, their method moved from deep roots in early Chicago house toward pop-structured songwriting and current production details, while they gained traction as producers for outside projects.

Those shifts registered throughout 2016, a breakthrough span for the duo. Stand Up and Speak, their opening full-length on the Universal-distributed Loma Vista imprint, arrived first. Weeks afterward, Kanye West’s The Life of Pablo dropped with Griesemer and Potter credited on five of its tracks. By year’s end they earned a Grammy nomination in the Best Rap Song category as co-writers of the album’s “Ultralight Beam,” while also producing “Rih-Flex” for fellow nominee the-Dream. Momentum carried forward in 2017 through production and co-writing on “Another Sad Love Song” from Khalid’s Grammy-nominated American Teen and expanded work on Kacy Hill’s Like a Woman. The-Dream, Khalid, and Hill, together with Charlie Wilson and Amber Mark among others, appeared on Big Wave More Fire, the varied third album from DJDS loaded with guests. Loma Vista released the full-length in 2018. The next year they joined Burna Boy for the Steel & Copper EP. An independent track titled “Simple Things,” featuring Rema and Tory Lanez, surfaced in July 2020.
