Dolores Forever unites two singer-songwriters who fuse indie textures with electro-pop sheen reminiscent of Sylvan Esso, Frances Cone, and Lucius. Having previously supplied material for other performers, the pair launched their own project in late 2021 via the single “Kilimanjaro,” whose anthemic-yet-bittersweet tone set the template for their first album, the 2024 release It’s Nothing.

The London-based outfit was founded by Yorkshire native Hannah Wilson and Copenhagen’s Julia Fabrin (Jakobsen). The pair first crossed paths at a mutual friend’s house party and soon developed a close bond. They later began co-writing songs, drawing on prior experience crafting tracks for K-pop acts, Scandipop artists, and Eurovision entrants before committing to a career under their own name. After inking a deal with Sweat Entertainment in London, Dolores Forever issued “Kilimanjaro” in late 2021; the track merged heartfelt indie pop with polished mainstream appeal and later appeared on the 2022 EP Baby Teeth. In June 2024 the duo shared “Lover,” a collaboration with the Knocks, alongside additional singles such as “Concrete” that previewed their forthcoming debut. The full-length It’s Nothing surfaced on Sweat that November.
