Domingo Quiñones

Domingo Quiñones rose to prominence in the 1990s as one of Puerto Rico’s leading salsa figures, working as both vocalist and composer while delivering a forceful, high-energy stage presence that drew praise across Latin America and the United States. His parents provided early musical training that immersed him in Cuban charangas and core salsa traditions from childhood onward. When he issued his first recording, the 1990 album …Es Mi Nombre, he had already mastered bachata and rumba in addition to salsa. Following recovery from substance dependence through religious conversion, he established himself as a major draw in Puerto Rico via later releases including En La Intimidad and Se Necesita un Milagro.
