Dool hail from the Netherlands, where the Rotterdam-based quartet crafts an ominous blend of gothic pop, psychedelic rock, post-rock, and doom metal that calls to mind Blue Öyster Cult, Sisters of Mercy, Ghost, the Sword, and Sonic Youth.

The lineup features Ryanne van Dorst of Elle Bandita handling vocals, Micha Haring formerly of the Devil's Blood and the Hands behind the drums, Job van de Zande who previously played with the Devil's Blood and Malkovich on bass, plus guitarists Reinier Vermeulen from the New Media and Liar of Golgotha alongside Nick Polak of Gold.

The group issued the single "Oweynagat" in 2016 ahead of its first full-length album, Here Now, There Then, which surfaced in early 2017 and featured guest vocals from former Devil's Blood and Molassess singer Farida Lemouchi; the record earned Metal Hammer's Debut Album of the Year honor.

Two years afterward Dool delivered the EP Love Like Blood, highlighted by its rendition of the Killing Joke composition that supplied the title.

After an extended stretch of worldwide touring curtailed only by the arrival of the COVID-19 pandemic, the band unveiled Summerland in 2020, now featuring Omar Kleiss on guitar.

Visions of Summerland [Live at Arminius Church Rotterdam] was captured in December 2022 and appeared in November 2023 while Dool tracked its third studio album, The Shape of Fluidity, ultimately released in April 2024 with Omar Iskandr having taken over on guitar.
