Dorrough Music

Dorrough emerged as a Texas rapper whose first release arrived in 2009, the minor hit single “Ice Cream Paint Job.” Raised in Dallas, he initially found recognition on the basketball court, serving as captain at Lancaster High School before enrolling at Prairie View A&M University with the intention of walking on to the squad. During his college years he issued a series of underground tracks credited to Dorrough Music, among them “Do tha Muscle” and “Halle Berry,” which gained steady regional traction. The pivotal moment arrived that same year when he issued his debut full-length, Dorrough Music, appearing under the abbreviated moniker Dorrough via the E1 Music imprint; the set contained both “Ice Cream Paint Job” and “Walk That Walk.” Two years later Get Big reached stores, followed in 2011 by the mixtape Silent Assassin. Returning to the Dorrough Music billing in 2013, he unveiled the mixtape Shut the City Down and the accompanying single “I.D.G.A.F.”
