Biography
In 1993 the Spanish vocal ensemble El Consorcio came together through former Mocedades members Amaya, Estíbaliz, and Iñaki Uranga together with Sergio Blanco and Carlos Zubiaga. Themes of daily existence and romance shaped their material, opening with the Rosa León-produced Lo Que Núnca Muere that same year and continuing through 1995’s Peticiones del Oyente and 1996’s Programa Doble. A 1998 collaboration with prominent Cuban musicians produced the traditional Cuban song album Cuba, completed during recording sessions in Miami, London, and Madrid. Las Canciones de mi Vida appeared in 2000.
