Los Secretos

Emerging as a key force in the Spanish New Wave, Los Secretos originated in 1980 when brothers Javier, Enrique, and Alvaro Urquijo assembled the group with a temporary drummer. Three years of activity later, the lineup contracted to a duo in 1983 as Alvaro and Enrique concentrated on their own pop/rock material. Drummer Steve Jordan, bassist Nacho Lles, and guitarist Ramón Arroyo later completed the roster, enabling the release of El Primer Cruce in 1986 and Continuará the following year. Keyboardist Jesús Redondo joined in 1988, after which the refreshed ensemble delivered the live album Directo, their first recording to earn gold certification. At the close of the 1990s the band dissolved, and its former members pursued separate endeavors.
