Originating in Spain, the pop/rock group Radio Futura first assembled in 1978 as Futurama, an endeavor launched by keyboardist Herminio Molero. Their live debut took place in October 1979 at Madrid's Ateneo. The next year brought an opening slot for Elvis Costello. After inking a deal with Hispavox, they issued Música Moderna. Herminio Molero exited the lineup in 1981. Not long afterward, Radio Futura joined Ariola and delivered De Un País En Llamas in May 1985. Now operating as a three-piece, the ensemble relocated to the U.S. in 1986 and captured La Canción de Juan Perro at New York's Sigma Sound studios. On October 28 and 29, 1988, they taped a live album that included Javier Monforte on guitar, Oscar Quezada on drums, and Pedro Navarrete on keyboards. Radio Futura dissolved after releasing Tierra Para Bailar in 1992.
