Biography
Born in Hialeah, Florida, as Alexander Izquierdo, Eskeerdo balances a solo rap career with his work as a songwriter and producer. He entered the industry in the late 2000s as part of the production collective the Monsters & Strangerz. Early placements with Trina, Maino, and Ice Cube led to a major breakthrough on Flo Rida’s 2010 single “Turn Around (5, 4, 3, 2, 1).” The year 2012 brought further visibility through Meek Mill’s “Burn,” Kanye West’s “Clique,” and Rihanna’s “No Love Allowed,” the latter appearing on the Grammy-winning album Unapologetic. Several tracks on Big Sean’s 2013 album Hall of Fame also carried Izquierdo’s co-writing credits. In 2014 he issued his first solo single, “For the City,” adopted by the Miami Heat as a pregame intro; the track anchored his self-titled EP the next year. That same year he contributed to Kendrick Lamar’s Grammy-winning To Pimp a Butterfly. Fifth Harmony’s 2016 hit “Work from Home” became his largest pop success, arriving alongside the Cuban Jesus EP and a run of solo singles that extended into 2017, including “BITTA” and “Gotta Luv It.”
