Biography
Foxwarren's indie rock carries the same introspective tone as the solo output of their frontman Andy Shauf, unfolding through gentle textures tinted by folk and psychedelia. The musicians issued their self-titled debut album in 2018 after a decade of sporadic activity together.
The group formed in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada toward the end of the 2000s when college acquaintances Shauf, Dallas Bryson on guitar, and siblings Darryl Kissick on bass and Avery Kissick on drums began rehearsing. Their bond developed from a common admiration for David Bazan's Pedro the Lion. After repeated early attempts collapsed amid lengthy pauses created by Shauf's solo touring and recording obligations, the members finally completed the home-recorded full-length they had been shaping. Anti- released the finished Foxwarren in 2018.
