Francesco Facchinetti, a DJ and vocalist, came into the world in Milan on May 2, 1980. His path into entertainment began at fifteen when he started spinning records at a neighborhood radio station. Local industry figure Claudius Cecchetto urged him to channel his growing regional fame into a singing career. The first test came with the single “La Canzone del Capitano,” which delivered DJ Francesco his initial gold record. Follow-up release “Salta” earned him a spot at the 2003 Italian Music Awards, where he was honored as “Rivelazione dell’Anno.” His 2004 Sanremo Festival debut with “Era Bellissimo” helped drive debut album Bella di Padella to platinum certification. The same year brought touring prospects, a collaboration with Italian vocal legend Luciano Pavarotti, and a role on reality series L’Isola dei Famosi. In May 2006 Facchinetti parted ways with manager Cecchetto, dropped the “DJ” prefix, and began performing simply as Francesco. New single “Non Cado Piu” soon earned another gold record. Audiences first heard “Vivire Normale” at the 2007 Sanremo Festival, where it served as the title track of his inaugural Sony release.
