Biography
Alessandra Amoroso entered the world on August 12, 1986, in Galatina, Lecce, Italy, and first captured national attention as a contestant on the eighth season of the reality competition Amici di Maria de Filippi in 2008. She claimed victory that year, outdistancing runner-up Valerio Scanu, and launched her solo recording career the following year with immediate commercial impact. One standout moment from her run on the program was a performance of Alicia Keys’s “If I Ain’t Got You,” underscoring Amoroso’s ability to navigate both pop and soul terrain in the manner of the American singer-songwriter.
Coinciding with her Amici triumph, she issued the Top Five singles “Immobile” and “Find a Way,” the former holding the summit position for a dozen weeks.
