An Italian singer and songwriter, Loredana Errore first gained widespread attention after finishing as a finalist on the 2009 season of the reality series Amici di Maria De Filippi, a placement that quickly led to her debut commercial single, the Top Five hit “Ragazza Occhi Cielo,” the following year. Born in Bucharest, Romania, on October 27, 1984, she grew up in Agrigento, Sicily, Italy, and completed her studies at the University of Catania in 2005. Throughout the 2000s she entered multiple singing contests, among them the Festival of Naples and the National Academy of Sanremo Song, and frequently placed near the top. Her decisive break arrived in 2009 when she was chosen for the ninth season of Amici di Maria De Filippi; she finished second behind winner Emma Marrone and thereby attracted national notice. The strong showing earned her a contract with Sony Music, which issued her first commercial recording, the eight-track EP Ragazza Occhi Cielo, in 2010. Produced in part by Biagio Antonacci and Michele Canova, the EP included the Top Five title track and itself reached the Top Five on the Italian albums chart.
