Arisa

Born Rosalba Pippa on August 20, 1982, in Genoa, Italy, Arisa first gained notice as an Italian pop singer when her debut single “Sincerita” raced to the top of the charts upon release in 2009. The breakthrough came after she captured the Mia Martini award, the top prize awarded to newcomers at the Sanremo Music Festival, which promptly secured her a recording contract with Warner Music. The same festival song, released as a single that year, ascended directly to number one on the Italian charts. The accompanying full-length album Sincerita followed in 2009 and peaked inside the Top Five. Both the single and the album also registered on the Swiss charts. Alongside the chart-topping title track, the set contained the follow-up single “Io Sono.”
