Annalisa

Italian singer/songwriter Annalisa Scarrone, who performs under the names Annalisa and Nali, spent her childhood in Carcare, where she began bartending and performing music while still in her early teens. During those years she performed with the bands Malvasia and Elaphe Guttata before pursuing a solo career through multiple talent competitions, where strong placements earned her initial public notice. Her first solo album, Nali, appeared in 2011 and proved immediately successful, yielding multiple singles, platinum certification, and a number-two placement on the Italian charts. The follow-up, Mentre Tutto Cambia, arrived in 2012 and contained the hit single “Senza Riserva.” In January 2013 the track “Pirati” was added to the bonus material of the animated feature Ice Age 4: Continental Drift. Shortly thereafter she released her third album, Non So Ballare, which reached number six on the Italian charts and introduced jazz influences into her pop style. The song “Tutto Sommato” was placed on the soundtrack of the Dutch hit Tuscan Wedding, and she supplied vocals for the film’s track “Capirai.” Her fourth album, Splende, came out in early 2015, followed a year later by the electro-pop release Se Avessi un Cuore; the two projects extended her run of chart success, landing at number seven and number four, respectively.
