Fuse

FUSE originated as an earlier alias from Richie Hawtin, appearing before his better-known Plastikman guise. The project launched in 1991 via the fourth single issued on Hawtin’s own +8 Records, titled “Approach & Identify.” Later that same year the track received broader exposure through the +8 compilation From Our Minds to Yours, after which FUSE issued additional singles throughout 1992 before unveiling the full-length Dimension Intrusion in 1993. Issued by Warp Records, then Britain’s leading outlet for the emerging listening techno sound, the album attracted a wider audience for Hawtin; further American distribution through TVT Records amplified its reach. As Hawtin devoted greater attention to Plastikman, subsequent FUSE material grew increasingly infrequent.
