Biography
Hailing from Southampton, England, Will Ozanne debuted his Gang Colours moniker in 2010 via the track "No Clear Reason," a luminous and ethereal blend of downtempo electronica with U.K. garage that appeared on the sixth volume of Gilles Peterson’s Brownswood Bubblers series. The next year saw the arrival of In Your Gut Like a Knife, a four-track EP issued on Brownswood and anchored by its brooding title cut, which incorporated a sample of Whitney Houston. As both producer and vocalist, Ozanne delivered his debut album, The Keychain Collection, in February 2012, an effort aimed primarily at intimate listening rather than dancefloor settings. Its lead single, "Fancy Restaurant," showcased Ozanne’s own understated and emotive singing and drew parallels to James Blake. September 2013 brought Invisible in Your City, which included a featured turn from Lulu James on the song "Why Didn't You Call?".
