Biography
Formed initially in Spain during 2009, the dream pop group Gold Lake, now based in Brooklyn, excels at blending airy, retro-infused pop reminiscent of Laurel Canyon's vintage West Coast sound with atmospheric contemporary shoegaze elements. Vocalist Lua Rios and guitarist Carlo Del Amo first crossed paths inside a Madrid nightclub that year; after the pair moved to Brooklyn's lively indie-pop neighborhood, drummer Dave Burnett completed the lineup and the trio quickly stirred up local attention. Their debut full-length album, Years, appeared in November 2014 on Outside Music after being tracked at La Cabaña studios in Madrid, produced by the band itself, and mixed by Phil Ek (Fleet Foxes, the Walkmen, Father John Misty).
