Grace Weber possesses a commanding voice that fuses elements of hip-hop, R&B, and gospel traditions. Following several self-released projects, she attracted broad attention through her contributions as co-writer and featured vocalist on Chance the Rapper’s Grammy Award-winning 2016 album Coloring Book. A 2018 signing with Capitol Records raised her visibility, prompting a series of well-received singles such as “More Than Friends” and “Mercy.” Subsequent to the 2020 EP How Did We Got Here, she reunited with Chance the Rapper for the 2021 release “Thru the Fire.”

Born in Milwaukee, Weber started performing around the age of ten and soon entered the Central City Youth Gospel Choir of Milwaukee. Those experiences opened doors to early television appearances on Showtime at the Apollo at age 16 and The Oprah Winfrey Show. After graduation she pursued formal training in music performance at New York University before issuing two independent albums. In 2015 she formed a productive alliance with hip-hop producers, songwriters, and instrumentalists Nate Fox, Nico Segal, and Peter Cottontale. The connection yielded featured work alongside Towkio, Francis & the Lights, and rapper Boogie on the co-produced tracks “Still Thirsty” and “Prideful.” The same circle brought Grammy recognition for her co-writing and vocal performance on the track “All We Got” from Chance the Rapper’s widely praised, Grammy Award-winning Coloring Book. Shifting emphasis in 2017 to her solo career, Weber again enlisted Fox, Segal, and Cottontale for the singles “More Than Friends” and “Elated.” Her Capitol contract generated additional 2018 releases including “Space Jam” and the Vic Mensa collaboration “Mercy.” She maintained a steady output through the following two years with the 2020 EP How Did We Got Here and tracks such as “Ghost” and “Feels Like Heaven,” while sustaining her association with Chance the Rapper, who invited her on tour and appeared on her 2021 single “Thru the Fire.”
