Handsome Ghost

In 2014 the Boston-rooted electronic pop outfit Handsome Ghost took shape as the vehicle for singer/songwriter Tim Noyes. Noyes had moved from his earlier guise as an indie-folk solo performer into crafting downtempo synth-pop sketches in his bedroom, and the project's debut single—the luminous, oneiric “Blood Stutter”—quickly attracted attention, securing a deal with Photo Finish Records in New York. Steps, the act's inaugural EP, surfaced in March 2015 and was trailed by an extensive run of live dates. Throughout the ensuing twelve months Handsome Ghost coalesced into a complete performing ensemble while Noyes remained its central figure, steadily shaping fresh songs. The follow-up EP The Brilliant Glow appeared in 2016, prompting a sweeping national tour behind three new singles. Those endeavors culminated in the band's first album-length statement, Welcome Back, issued in 2018 and featuring the songs “Honest Mistake,” “Better Off,” and “Fool.”
