Biography
Harrison Craig, victor of the second series on the Australian talent program The Voice in 2013, first arrived in Melbourne during 1994 and spent his childhood under his mother’s care in the Chelsea suburb. Hardship defined those early years after his father departed when Craig was six. Although a vocal stutter had been present since birth and remains an ongoing challenge, the impediment disappeared completely whenever he sang. His mother, recognizing the clear natural aptitude, enrolled him in the Victorian Boys Choir during his early teens. Growing confidence later prompted an application to compete on The Voice, where his audition before the panel of Seal, Joel Madden, Delta Goodrem, and Ricky Martin featured a spell-binding interpretation of Josh Groban’s “Broken Vow.” Viewers remained captivated by Craig’s progress as he surmounted both the stutter and his self-doubt to secure the overall win. The debut album More Than a Dream appeared in June 2013, ascended to the top of the Australian charts, and subsequently received platinum certification. Several singles drawn from the record, most consisting of material Craig had performed on the series, reached listeners throughout that same year.
